Recently bought H&R springs for my MK5 GTI. I'm getting quoted about £430 fitting inc. alignment from a VW Audi Specialist. Is the price right or getting quoted too much?

Sounds high. I would have expected half hour each plus alignment, so around half your quote.

I thought it was a bit high too just to replace springs and get alignment. Another garage quoted me £420 and another said £320 without alignment. Need to ask a few others.

I was getting quotes like that when I had mine done. Ended up paying £180 at a back street garage.

Was it a good job? I just want to make sure its done properly with alignment.

It was ok, but didn't do alignment. Had it done elsewhere.
Ball joints were also siezed so had to be replaced.

I just had rear springs and both handbrake cables replaced for £100 labour at a local garage. The springs took less time than the brake cables, I'd imagine he would charge £150 for front and rear as an idea.
Where are you based? I'm in South Bucks if it helps.

I’m based in London and yeah I’m going to ask around a few more garages. I just want a professional job done with full alignment. I was surprised that my local garage quoted me £320 just for fitting and these guys aren’t even specialists.

I got my H&R springs fitted on my MK5 Golf GTI for £100 in Central London. Didn't do the alignment till about 2 weeks later cause I wanted the springs to settle.

Rears are dead easy. Fronts are (apparently) more of a ball ache.
