Was thinking to myself, wouldn't it be nice to have a wireless charger kit in the MK5.

Looking around there are some kits available such as the 'Inbay' kit:

Plastic looks to be quite gash in the pictures - my OCD will need a complete match otherwise i'll start to feel an itch behind my eye.

Anyone installed it? Or made something unique with a kit and some awesome DIY?

Was thinking the 'tray' you can buy for the top dash could be modified to include something nice...

I’ve done this. Installed on the the OEM ashtray, similar to the link but completely invisible and ashtray still fully functioning.
Only thing extra I put on top of the lid is a antil-slip mat
Haven’t got any pics on how I did it...but have a video on how it works, no idea how to upload

 Edit: sh*tty screenshot from vid

That looks good. Have you got link or information of the wireless charging lid you purchased?

I think you can upload video with the imgur.com app, but I've never done that.

Didn’t purchase a lid, took apart a wireless charger I had and installed the internals in my OEM lid and wired it up to ignition live
Done it last year June, still working
