Have a 2005 with 75k with the above being done soon is there any other preventative maintenance that you'd do while my mechanic is at it?

All depends on what has been done in the past. If there is no history of the Cambelt + Waterpump, Cam Follower, DSG service (if auto) being done then these should be done around your mileage, if not sooner. May also be worth checking you have the latest revision PCV & Diverter Valve as well. Pick up pipe worth changing as they can become blocked as well. Lots of other small things but worth checking if any of the above have been done previously.

May as well do the cam follower whilst you're there, if it hasn't been done recently and looks worn.

Probably worth dropping the sump to replace the pickup and clear away any sludge. It's very common for GTIs on longlife servicing to suffer from pickup pipe blockages, which can write the engine off quite easily.
