Title: Intake Hose Clip - HELP!!
Post by: richtung on February 22, 2019, 07:41:49 am
Hi Guys,

i need to call upon my fellow members for assistance.

After @Pudding (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10733) kindly sorted me out with a new O Ring for the MAF housing, i set about replacing it. Like a fricking idiot, i dropped one of the retaining clips that clamps the hose to the MAF housing - its nowhere to be see despite my futile attempts to try and find it. This is the clip in question:

(Pic from @pudding's thread)

These clips cannot be bought separately so im pretty stuck - unless i fork out for an entire hose.

Please can i ask if any members have an old hose that's knackered or by some miracle has one of the clips spare that i could have? Im more than happy to cover costs etc... :happy2:

Thanks Guys

Rich

Can't help with the clip but make sure it hasn't fallen into the hose itself because if it has you'll soon have one knackered turbo!

On facebook? Ask on TFSI Parts for sale/wanted - will be loads of folk that have them lying around.

Sadly this website is like a ghost town these days

If it makes you feel any better I've just installed a panel filter in my airbox and also lost one of those metal clips.

It still feels secure with just one clip.

Let me know if you find a part number for it.

Can you get the front of your car in the air, ramps or even parked over a high kerb should give you adequate access to the under tray. A couple of hours tops (for a first time attempt) with a torx bit and like suggested above, you'll very likely find the clamp sitting in the tray.

Thank you for the kind offer - I ended up buying a a new pipe as the little plastic flap which stops the metal clamp from falling had broken. For £41 for a new pipe wasn't an earch shattering amount.
Thank you once again for your offer  :happy2:
