Should the battery light come on the dash every time the ignition is switched on?

Yeah I think it goes off after a few seconds. Or goes off once started, you got me thinking now lol

hmm that's what I thought, mine isn't coming on and I've been experiencing charging issues and when I've scanned it, it keeps coming up with code 01117 - Generator Terminal DF Load Signal: Implausible Signal. I'm guessing either the wire to the dash light is broken or the alternator is on it's way out, anyone got any experience with this?
