Title: Clubsport VS Clubsport S

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the engine differences are between the two? I don't mean power/torque but actual hardware. Use the same turbo? Internals? All i can find is the engine code (CDXE for the Clubsport, unsure for the S).

Basically i'd love a Clubsport S, but i want back seats and DSG  :confused:

I think it is the same engine but the CSS has a different exhaust and the ecu doesn’t have the nanny overboost control of the normal CS.  Sounds like you want the CS with a remap and then maybe the CSS front spindles which allow 2 deg of camber.

Can you even buy a Clubsport S?  I thought they were all hoovered up by speculators long ago?  It wouldn't be too hard to retro fit DSG and back seats.  Equally easy to make an S out of a Clubsport  :smiley:

Imo, the Clubsport and S are the pick of the hot Golf crop at the moment.  I hope the MK8 platform finally gets the 5 pot engine!

Latest reports suggest the Mk8 GTi will start at 260bhp, like CS, but will also have an electric turbocharger which would make it very responsive.

Interesting! One electric turbo, or a normal one + supplementary fill in as per the SQ7?
