Title: Stockport VW specialist

Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong place or has been answered a million times - this is my first post! I have a 2006 Mk5 GTI (runs like clockwork!) which needs a service + DSG oil change. I have access to a half-decent independent but I'd rather go to a specialist if I can.

Firstly do I even need a specialist? Do you think an independent is fine for this?
Or... Do you folks know of a trustworthy specialist in the Stockport area (not German Specialists though as I don't trust them after a suspect looking service report)

Note: I understand I could probably do this myself but work/life/useless af issues prevent this.

Awesome GTI in Irlam are what you would call a specialist. They did a DSG & cambelt service before with no issues.

Hi, I've recently become a Mk5 GTI owner and I'm getting the dsg oil and filter replaced next week by a guy I know very well in Dukinfield (close to Stockport). He's a general mechanic but knows his stuff with VW machinery. I'll let you know how I get on if you want to give him a go.
