Hi everyone,
New to the forum and this is my first post so far with hopefully many more to come and look forward to getting involved on here a lot too!
I've recently purchased a Mk5 Golf GTI and absolutely love it. I bought it on Relentless coilovers and as much as I like the look, I've had my fun with coilovers in the past and now want to change these to just lowering springs.
I understand I'll need new shock absorbers for the front and rear (which I have bought brand new from GSF with 60% off) but will I need anything else?
Will I need top mounts/bump stops or anything else?
I've also already got some 35mm lowering springs to go onto the new shocks.
All help much appreciated :innocent:

It depends on whether or not your current coil overs use the original VW top mounts. If they do, then sweet, use those. If they don’t, then you’ll need some new ones. Other than that, all bolts will be reused. The only specialist tool you’ll need is the one to undo the top mount nut. It’s essentially a socket with the side cut out allowing an Allen key to go in there to hold the shock shaft from spinning.
You’ll also need spring compressors but I just made my own.
