Title: 4 Wheel Alignment
Post by: holty on February 19, 2010, 12:44:31 pm
Anyone know of a decent place for 4 wheel alignment? My camber needs adjusting.  I am in Bolton so anywhere near there or manchester.

Since putting H&R springs on I have uneven tyre wear!

Would £100 cover it?

I had mine done at Awesome GTI after I had the H&R's on. I think it was around £100 if I remember rightly  :drinking:

Cheers Tom - did they do the rears too?

Just rang Thistlewaites in Bolton who have the latest high tech computers and they said its anything between £80 and £160 - depends on what needs adjusting - £20 an adjustment.

£160 seems alot if the camber, castor and toes need adjusting - or am I being a tight ass?!

if you don't get it done right it will cost you more in tyres in the long run

Holty

Ring Jake at Panelcare Bolton, he's booked in to do mine when my rocco comes, its a laser/computerised system and it was way under 100 quid. Plus if you're in 'Ball-ton' hes 20 mins away.

Hes one of the advertisers over on uk-mkivs and chief painter of that parish

Cheers guys - just rang awesome and they can't fit me in on a saturday for 6 weeks!

Can't get over there during the week (they could do Weds), so a mobile guy might be perfect!

Dave - will try Jake, off to look for his number now!

£160 sounds a lot, I had my springs fitted and a 4wheel alignment at PSI Tuning for £150!

I was gonna say.... I've had mine on a Bear laser jobby for £70 all in, and it was completely on the piss and needed a fair bit of twiddling.

The BEST place in Bolton by far is Nigel Langs (www.nigellangsgarage.co.uk). Uses the best Hunter alignment equipment. Cost is about £60 plus adjustments if required. You get a before & after detailed print-out.

Uses exactly the same set-up as Jake at Panelcare.

I wouldn't have my alignment done on any other set-up.
