Title: Missing cover? Could somone double check for me please?

Hi All,

Was topping up the oil in the ED30 today and noticed what appeared to be a missing cover:

Its the box to the right of the coolant tank where the hoses from the charcoal canister connect. I could have sworn there should be some sort of cover. The box appears to have slots for a cover to clip into?

Could someone be kind enough to do a sanity check and see if their "box" is without a cover?

There isn’t anything as u describe on my Ed30 in that area either  :confused: :happy2:

Thats really strange. Just seen a video on Youtube of someone changing the coolant tank an their cover is also missing?
Any chance you could take a photo if you get chance?

I've just pulled one of a car in a scrap yard, it can't be lost without actually disconnecting the fuel lines so I guess VW stopped fitting them for some reason, part number 1k0 201 970.

Maybe the covers were pulled off by dealers to solve the fuel line tapping issue, and they didn't bother putting them back on?

Or perhaps there was a supply problem at the factory.

I checked our 2011 Passat CC (2.0 TDI 170). That also has a missing cover. I'm still none the wiser since starting this thread. However, it is reassuring that my cover isn't missing or left off by the garage previously!
