Title: Removing rear heat shield
Post by: rich83 on April 20, 2019, 11:48:34 am
Does anyone know how to remove the small metal heat shield at the back on the engine block? The one that has the plastic mounting points on for the oem engine cover.

Thanks.

Yes rich, If I remember correctly there’s 2 bolts underneath going directly through the shield and into the block, you can get to them with an extension easy enough (think they might have been 18mm) not sure tho off head.
I’m sure the hard coolant lines are also held on by 2 10mm nuts or bolts too which will need to come off, I’m sure they’re held onto the heat shield but can’t remember now lol (apologies my memory’s so crap)

Lovely. I think you are right. I took the screws out for the fuel line and I could feel the bolts you are referring to but didn’t want to attack in to then find out that it wasn’t right.

Will have a look next week.

Thanks.
