It involves taking the front bumper off. If you fit autolevelling sensors and washer jets as well cost is around £2000 from what I've seen.

What was the cost as an option when new?

Are you talking brand new SW?

Used xenons, brand new auto levelers and adaptors.
The xenons can be had for around £350-£400 (ebay), 10-12 pin adaptor is £50(kufatec) and the auto leveling kit is around £350 from kufatec. If you feel confident to fit them yourself then it be around £800 for the full job, if you dont want the auto levelers then obviously minus the cost.

The actual changing of the lights is easy enough if you can take the bumper off. You will also need someone with vag com to change the car settings to xenons. :happy2:

If you've not got washer jets, I wouldn't bother Nicky.

If you have, then it can be done for under £1000 if you buy wisely and are lucky with Ebay as Ollie says.
I'm mid process myself and I've scoped out that I won't spend more than £900 even if I'm unlucky, although my vehicle has the winter pack, thus OEM headlamp washers on the car out the factory.

That £900 will cover Xenon headlights with ballasts + bulbs, the kufatec auto leveling kit and fitting at my local Porsche/VW Specialist, which then means my setup will be fully legal. Minus the washers and/or the leveling kit and technically (+ legally etc...) your cars not fit for the road MOT wise. Up to you though...

But just so you dont get confused it will pass an MOT without washers or levelers.  :happy2:

And I dont think the washers will b to much of a problem. Pm scott (golfman) Im sure he will tell you what is involved and the cost of it as he has just had it done.

Also I have had the xenons without the levelers and washer for months and not had a problem. Its been into VW for a service and MOT is soon and they have not mentioned anything. The reason I am not fitting levelers is because I am selling the car soon.  :happy2:

Reviving an old thread here

Just to clarify on this in my simpleton mind. If I was to fit the kit you have Ollie but minus the headlamp washer jets on my gti then my car is actually not road legal?
For it to be fully road legal I would need the auto levellers and the washer kit?

How much would I be looking at to get the headlamp washers sorted approximately? Also where would be the alternative place to pick them up aside from the stealership?

I think a few people have had the full lot done. It might be worth searching for it. The cost seems to come to about £1000 for everything (off the top of my head, may be wrong).

Your understanding is correct here Comms  :happy2:

In regards to finding some HL washers, I would try the market place here and also eBay.
A quiet word with someone like MortyGTTDI (Darren) will also be worth while as Darren is superbly helpful with these kinds of resources and supplies

Awesome, will drop him a line.

I am just now wondering if I would get pulled over if I was to get these fitted on Sunday  :scared:

MOT is not due until Oct so I should have it all sorted by then.
