Early gti’s have blue glass.........thankfully mine has green :pomppomp:
Anyone got a full set for sale at a very reasonable price to fit in a restoration project.
My recommendation is to bin blue and fit green :booty:

I like my blue for some reason... God help anyone looking for replacement blue so expensive now

Yes I know sadly so told them to fit full green and sell the remainder of the blue to recoup some of the cost back.

Blue looks good on my candy white when the light catches it and I think blue was only a GTI tint where as green is used across the range and on all later cars
“I think ”

Yes blue tint was specifically for 2005 and very early 2006 gti models only .. VW changed to green tint across the golf range because it was too costly to have the two hence why the blue tint is so bloody expensive

I had my blue tint rear glass replaced under my insurance and had to pay £270 for it doing and then then insurance gave me it back minus my access.

The glass is tinted? I never noticed
I wish the MK5 had blue wing mirror glass like the MK4. Cuts out a lot of glare at night.

Hi, I can't help you with glass, but at least I can give you the contact of a company that specializes in glass restoration (https://www.unscratchthesurface.com). In fact, they can participate in your project, cause they're real professionals. Check their portfolio to convince. I used their services to restore my side windows last year. Frankly, I thought that there was nothing to do with such deep scratches, but they polished glass and it became as good as new! So, they can give you some special advices for your project :happy2:

Hi there,
I recently bought 4 door skins for the skins and the doors have blue glass which I’m happy to get rid of. Only thing is someone put tints on the back doors but that should come off no?
-
Well done for putting up... Very rare now especially being 4 dr worth a few quid to anyone doing a restoration
-
That should’ve read I bought 4 doors...!
Speaking of which before I ditch them does anyone need any door locks or window motors? Just the price of postage

My golf has blue tint windows and love them. Matches the blue lights on dials and suits the car perfect. Wouldnt feel the same with green tints.

I have on my golf the blue window and in one day when I was driving, a small stone knocked on this window and it left a big scratch. I didn't want to change it because it cost a lot of money to change it and I didn't have enough money then. I was very angry some days until I came across https://www.UnscratchTheSurface.com when I was searching for something on the Internet. Uhhh, guys, you don't know how easy it was on my soul. I called them and my issue was solved in an hour. Now I drive my golf with big pleasure because I don't notice this scratch.
