Hiya,
This seems to be happening more often (motorway and town), the car drives fine but then seems to stop giving 'power', you can put your foot to the floor and there's nothing (considerably less power). You then have to stop the car, turn it off and back on again and then everything is fine!.
Had it scanned and this came up:
16683-080
Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached:
P0299
Could this be connected to the issue I am having?
Any help would be brilliant, Thank You :happy2:

It's likely the N249-diverter valve or N75-boost regulator/controller. Could just be a leak or even a restricted Catalyst as well. Always search your codes here for more good info: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16683/P0299/000665
Your ECU is seeing boost not being met via reports from the MAP sensor and so the ECU puts it into limp mode briefly. Once you go again, it will likely run fine if you keep it in "vacuum-to-low boost" and only cruise in it. But if you get into boost again, the same will happen.

Would this still apply as it is a 2.0TDi? - Are these parts reasonable?!

No, the 2.0TDI is a different ball game, I don’t think Roh echt above knew you was referring to a TDI and rather a GTI.
P0299 is a common fault code for an underboost issue. You will need to check for boost leaks but the chances are, you could have sticky turbo veins! In which case, mr muscle oven cleaner, a little bit of graft and patience will be your friend!
Search the net for TDI sticky turbo veins. You’ll see plenty pop up!

Ooops! I didn't see your car specified so I did assume it was a 2.0t FSI.
