Hi all apologies if this is a repeat post as I am sure based on my findings this is a common fault, my question is I have spoken to Vw who have said this is now no longer covered under warranty and no contribution either, so how easy is it to fix , any recommendations , I am based in Dorset so nay help always welcome.

I got mine done under warranty so I don't know how much it is but it's a master cylinder/ABS unit out job. It's a bit crap that they won't even entertain the idea of a contribution as it's a known defective part.
You could try JKM in Portsmouth or a local specialist as it's mostly a labour job, I think it was 4 hours to do, that's what they told me when I picked it up, but it says nothing on the receipt that I have.

You can get repaired refurbished units for a fraction of the new part price but given the age there should be plenty of second hand but serviceable ABS pumps knocking about, check the salvage yards or eBay for something like 1K0614517AE and you should be able to get complete units for less than £100.

Are these a diy repair? Is there a guide to do so :happy2:
