Title: Image hosting
Post by: sprint_48 on June 24, 2019, 06:28:56 pm
Have been away from car forums on a regular basis for a few years now.  I used to use Edition38 a lot and used Photobucket for all my forum pics, but I see they now want money to use the site!

What image hosting site(s) do people use on here?

I still use photo bucket, but the free version which gives me 2gb of space.  I only use this for photos on forums and seems to be enough.

Cheers for the reply.  Will look into it, but the last time I did I couldn’t access any of my old photos without signing up for a monthly fee.

Any more?

Cheers.  Could someone remind me how to post photos as I’m not familiar with this style of forum.  Have just written a long post with Google Photo links but they don’t display.  I’m using my iPhone on Safari if that helps.

With Google Photos, click on whichever photo you'd like to add to your post. Then right-click and click "copy image address", you should then be able to paste this link inbetween the image tags like so (remove the space at the end, i couldn't get the tags to show up as text if i didn't include the space):

[img] paste image link here [/img ]

I hope this helps :happy2:
I've been doing this on the last few posts in my build thread.

Just be careful Google don't charge you for 'views' traffic like Photobucket have started doing.

I use imgbb.com, it doesn't give you tons of space, but if you only share a picture now and again or want somewhere to host your signature or profile pic it's great, and the website isn't rammed full of ads and slow like Photobucket.
