Hello all, When I got my GTI a month or two back I joined up to UKMIV's and had a chat with V2Brett who recomended making my way over here, I have been looking around and reading the technical/product and detailing info. And thought I better introduce myself!
I havent had chance to do much to my car since getting her, been to busy enjoying the drive and have quickly crept an extra 2000 on the clock (I dont drive her every day and get the train to work!!!) I recently braved the col and gave her a good clean and polish photos below, used a liquid meguires wax, which was very easy thinking of hitting some AG HDwax on her next time!

I dont know why but I preferred the 5 door proportions on the Mk5 always been a 3 door man before.
The shine was well worth the effort, and helping to keep the front 2/3rd's clean in this rubbish weather, going to try claying for the first time once the weather improves, and then apply some hard wax.
Seems the previous owners didnt put time or effort into looking after it, so have been doing my best to get her back to mint condition! Cleaned leather and now applied to leather care treatments, dragged the gunk and leaves out from front wing infront of door, regular wash and wax/polish.

i was the other way around, on both of my MK4's i preferred the 5dr lines, on my MK5 i prefer the 3dr
