Could anybody help me with finding a part number? It’s for the air con compressor in a 2006 FYI. Already bought one but turns out it doesn’t fit so want to be sure before I order another. I rang VW who told me they won’t give out part numbers!!!

Am at work at mo but as soon as I get home ( next couple hours) I will give you it.......had mine replaced last year.

Sorry but I don’t know what you mean by an exchange item? I wanted to buy a used one from eBay.

You get the new compressor and then when you fit it you send your faulty compressor back = Exchange

You can get the part number from your old compressor. It is on a sticker on the lower front of the compressor, you cant see it from above, you have to remove the undertray to see it. I would take off the undertray and use my phone to get a picture.

Still looking for a part number if anyone can help. Ideally I don’t want to be taking boys off the car to see the old one. Can’t believe how much of a nightmare it is to find it. If anyone can help it would be massively appreciated

The part number I have given you is the correct Vw part # for the compressor. Mine is a late 05 model so numbers should be the same.
I had mine replaced by my local dealership

The one I bought cake off of a 2005 GTI so it may be different. The part number you’ve given me doesn’t look at all similar to the ones I’ve seen either

Go to www.oemepc.com, input your VIN (or search by model/year) and you should be able to find it yourself.
