Hi
I've noticed that occasionally when I'm in a higher gear (4th upwards) if I feather the throttle or if my revs are slightly low for the gear I am in, the boost kind of flutters upto pressure, making an almost fluttering/stuttering sound.
The engine is fine, I've had it on VAG com and there are no problems, however this has only happened since the remap and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything similar?
Cheers :happy2:

K03 or K04 turbo?
-
I would say its the ECU/N75/DV doin there job and modulating the boost to keep it at the correct/requested boost level. What remap by the way?
-
My car was registered in March 2008 if memory serves me right, so it'll be a K03, I think?
The remap was a Hexup custom map, I just want to make sure its right...

....Unless it's an Edition 30 or had a K04 transplant by a previous owner, it'll be K03. I only asked in case the info helped someone else to help you.

I had a bit of bother after mine was mapped, first port of call was to replace the DV with a new Rev D Piston type and it was all good again.
Original DV had a 15-20mm tear in the diaphragm!

This had crossed my mind actually as I'd heard things about the standard DV being prone to tearing and the last thing you need is a tear in the diaphragm! ;)

If its boosting normally the rest of the time I wouldn't have thought it was the DV being torn
-
Yeah it's definitely fine the rest of the time, thanks for your help lads

Having driven earlier tonight, I've noticed that the boost isn't actually stuttering, however as it's spooling up it seems to flutter only in the low rev situation described above. I'm thinking it may be that things are more audible now there's more boost, an exhaust and a freer flowing air filter?...

I think your right pal, fit an intake and you will notice it even more :happy2:
