Hi all,
I’m brand new to the forum but not new to VW’s. I’ve had my MK5 GTI for just under a year and it’s completely standard at the moment. I’m thinking of an exhaust change but want to keep the car subtle so am thinking of a resonated Milltek cat-back system. Has anyone got any experience of them and do they sound any different from stock? Are they worth while or does it need to be non-res to see any change?
Any advice welcome!
Thanks

I have a non res cat back Milly on my mk5 (replaced due to the car needing a new exhaust for mot) initially there wasn't much difference in exhaust note but as time has gone by it now sounds much better .......much more throaty and a deeper rumble which is subtle and not too boy racer sounding :booty:

Resonated for subtle. I really like SuperSprint exhausts for subtle :happy2:

Cheers for the suggestions guys, I hadn't considered super sprint but will have a look!

I’m on a full decat non res Milltek and honestly feel it’s still not loud as I expected! It’s very subtle in my opinion on low boost, of course when u give it some it has a great tone and very angry sounding especially with the DSG pops. I don’t think you’ll like the resonated milltek (my opinion of course), even the non res isn’t as loud as you think it would be and it’s very subtle around city normal everyday driving with no drone at all, even on the motorway.
