Travelled down south this weekend in the GTI and randomly at the end of my 200 mile journey the engine light started flashing (which I know is due to misfire).

I then used my OBD ELEVEN to do a scan and it seems like I’ve got three engine codes, P0300 - Multiple engine misfire  ... Cyl. 1 and Cyl. 2.

I know this could most likely be due to spark plugs, ignition coils etc and they haven’t been changed in a while

 BUT

I’m no where near home, do you think it would be okay to drive back home still or do you think I need to immediately get this sorted before I head back home?

				No ecp/gsf nearby open tomorrow

-
fix it it could damage the cat all that unburned fuel

Lol that makes sense why it’s been popping more since I got these codes - I’m decatted  too.

 Update:
Since I got the flashing CEL I never saw any symptoms of misfire, rough idling, change in driving etc. It was just the codes that flashed so it seems like it’s very intermittent. Went on a 10 miles test run today after erasing codes and no misfire, no CEL anything etc.

I’m probs gonna drive back and see what she wants to do, if I get anything I’m just gonna get it recovered. Spark plugs and ignition coils are next on the tick list   :happy2:

Swap plugs and coils around to different cylinders and see if the misfire codes move cylinders. It will most likely be coils/plugs but could also be injector issue so well worth swapping around first.

Euro car parts normally have some stores open on Sunday too.
