Title: GT TDI - Fuel Gauage Help

Afternoon people, slight issue with the car now

Was driving on Sunday with under 1/2 tank and all of a sudden, needle went all the way down and trip computer showed 0000. Was in traffic so restarted the car and needle went back up but trip showed 2000 miles.

Slowly the trip computer went lower to what it should be, but its still showing 95 miles left on slightly above reserve is that ok??

not sure if it will be the same but i know we have the same kind of pumps, but on my mk4 gti my fuel gauge decided to stop working, i pulled out the in tank pump, cleaned the face and nib of the fuel level sensor, done a resistance reading and see it all working, put it back together and hey presto.. it was working again.
