Title: Precautionary Preventive Maintenance
Post by: Panthera on October 23, 2019, 08:36:44 pm
Evening all,

I have my car booked into a VAG Specialist next month for its 120k service, she is currently on 115, 500 miles and I just wondered if there is anything that I could get done at the same time.  Its just a oil service and I am going to have the brakes fluid changed as its over two years old.

I have had the cam follower changed, new DV, Cam belt and water pumps, servo vacuum pump (what ever that was) plus the usual items like carbon evaporated canister with bits.

So is there anything I could get the garage to look at, change?  Is there a list of items for this very question?

P.S. how often are the spark plugs changed? mine where last changed 80,463 miles for Denso Iridium VK20Y items.

Get the plugs changed for the NGK BKR7EIX

Get the oil pump strainer in the sump changed if not previously done

If the engine is starting to sound louder/tappy/rattly/diesel-like when warm then look at getting the cam chain and tensioner changed.
