Hi guys, complete stab in the dark here. Yesterday it was pretty wet, after hard acceleration at a set of lights my car bounced off the limiter once and the epc light came on after pretty heavy wheelspin. Got the car home let it go to sleep for a couple of hours and started it back up to find the epc light still on but now accompanied by the yellow eml light!
I can’t get the car plugged in until Monday after work but worried about driving it to get to work! Has anyone had any similar experiences or does anyone within the community near to Leigh WN7 have an OBD reader that I could potentially quickly use to check the fault?
Many thanks
Nick

you should be able to reset esr with switch by gear lever

Those buttons are the tyre monitor reset and Traction control on/off. Sounds like this could be ABS sensor related if the EPC and EML lights came on. Need to scan it to be sure. Try pulling the battery and leaving it disconnected for 30 minutes in the meantime. That will clear any fault codes and reset things. If they come back on, it's definitely time for a scan.

Thanks Pudding I’ll give this a try in the morning!

No worries. I hope it is just an ABS sensor getting wet and bothered. The same thing used to happen in my MK4 R32 when driving hard through deep puddles. EML and ESP lights popped on! I think the sensors were getting a bit old and letting a bit of water in or something.

I bet I sound like a right idiot here but here goes - every time I disconnect one of the terminals on the battery the alarm keeps going off! Any way around this?

Stupid question but is the car fully unlocked? All doors and boot?

Sussed it guys, the engine cover has come loose and snapped the sensor on top of the HPFP :( will be removing the engine cover and buying a new induction kit and fuel pump now as can’t get the sensor separate and don’t fancy it happening again, all this cost for a bloody loose engine cover WTF

Oh no, bummer! Must have been all the engine shaking from the rev limiter / wheel spin that caused that.
Might be worth getting a fresh set of engine cover rubber grommets to make sure it doesn't flap about again.

Not putting anything on top of that sensor again!
I’ve just tonight put a neuspeed induction system on and replaced the fuel pump! £550 all in
