How much 3M vinyl would I need to wrap the rear diffuser area on a standard GTI bumper?
I dimensioned up earlier in the dark with a torch and it seemed that general surface area is about 154 x 25cm in total.
So presumably 3M wrap in a 240x120cm size will more than cover it?
£50.00 cheaper however is the 150x120cm size but I think that'd be pushing it, anyone?
Thanks :happy2:
-
I'd go for the bigger size as it will allow you to do other parts to colour code :happy2:

I bought some the other week 1350x270mm for £14.99, but its seems to have gone up now to £17.99. It is really great quality 3M DI-NOC vinyl.
Does anyone know the best way to fit it?
Does the rear bumper come off really easy?
Can I just take off the diffuser, or is it the whole rear bumper?
Thanks,

I'd be very surprised if that was the real deal monte. That's Ridiculously cheap! Lol

This stuff won't adhere to the textured lower section if thats the one your referring to unless it's been de-textured/painted.... :happy2:

On the ED30 I believe it is all one piece unlike the R32 with removable valance. :happy2:

It is all one piece, and I was referring to the OP when I said about it sticking Monte!
As long as you get rid of the texture you should be ok, but a layer of primer would seal the deal! :happy2:

I haven't fitted it yet, but I measured it earlier and the rear diffuser on the Ed30 is 1200mmX250mm so it will be close
I got it from this place....(the sunstrip is the real bargain, and its just big enough for the diffuser)

Well what a nightmare :jumping:
Took me about 10mins to take bumper off and back on and about 3 hrs fannying about with the wrap :rolleye:
IF you are going to attempt this, be warned! all those angles are tricky, and being the rear diffuser it is quite big to handle. Try to stick at it. Those wrinkles and bubbles do come out, and it will stetch with a bit of heat.
Its turned out ok, and I reckon I got it 95% perfect...... but I'm afraid that extra 5% will probably have me ripping it off in a few weeks.
I think I will probably end up getting it painted black...... professionally :ashamed:
Here are some photo's, although I should have cleaned it up first. (there are some white lines on there from the squeegee they sent which I need to clean off).
