Title: Leather condition

Rite guys,

this possibly isn't in the right section but let me know if it isn't,
my car has done 24k and these are the seats: (the seats look to shiny because they have just been cleaned)

drivers seat (most distorted obv)

rear seat (looking very dry/ possibly starting to crack  :surprised:)
The rear headrests are dry as a bone (think i need some type of cream for this)
all these seats look worse in the flesh i think  :confused:
Haven't had this car for all that long and Not sure if the condition reflects the milage...
i regularly use LTT and want to keep them as fresh as possible but is this amount of rippling normal?
Can anyone recommend a way to reduce this effect? i have heard about using a hairdryer...

Any advice will be handy,

On similar rippling and cracking, probably a bit worse, i have used Autosmart leather kit. Its a cream cleanser and then a sort of seal liquid on top. I have used it on ferraris and bmw x5's, also on my own edition 30 side bolsters.  :happy2:

imo the leather looks in good condition , ive seen cars with lots less miles on looking lots worse than that :happy2:

The best thing you can do with leather on vw's is to give it a good deep clean with some good cleaning liquid from ltt. That's about all you can do with it. If you "treat" it with conditioner or similar it just sits on top of the "leather" and doesn't soak in because it's mainly plastic. It will just sit on top and get shiny when your sat on it

oh good, i am happy that it is in good condition, it does seem to wear quite hard! im using ltt at the mo which i hope is doing the trick!

One of the tips we give people is to massage the leather... yes, we know that sounds a little odd, but if you gently massive the leather on a regular basis it will help - probably best to make sure the neighbours aren't watching when you do it though!  :stupid: :smiley:
