With all you guys getting uprated HPFPs, should we not have another RR day to see what improvements the upgrade has made?
-
Yeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Where you thinking, awesome again or somewhere different?
-
I'd vote Awesome.
Simply because mine's been on their rollers twice already at stage1 and stage2 - so no matter what it reads at in terms of accuracy, it'll still give me a fair indication of how it has changed.
-
Makes sense... Mines only been on theirs too so will be a good comparison for me too.
-
Count me in, Awesome sounds good to me
-
YUP i'm up for another RR day... i FINALLY want to get my rolling road figures for my Pirelli
I didnt dare at the last RR meet in Halifax because i put the wrong oil in :signLOL: :ashamed: :ashamed:
-
i will nip over but no rr for me as i will only put it on dd rollers now as i know what mine does and its perfect for me
-
dd rollers ??
I'll start the list off i guess ( but we need time/date first ?)

dyno dynamics
-
I thought Awesome had been getting more realistic figures lately. :happy2:
-
Perhaps folk who are interested should post saying as much and depending on numbers, we could try and arrange a suitable venue and date...
-
I'd be up for this, any idea on a date?
-
id be up for a DD rollers aswell,
-
To be fair to Awesome, when Dynojet attended the UK-MKIVs RR day probs 18 months ago and recalibrated their rollers beforehand, everyone put out exactly what it said on the tin on the day. At both stage 1 and stage 2 since mine's been pretty much as expected.
Also on the day their old MKV dropped a fair bit of power/torque from previously claimed, they were quite pragmatic about it rather than making excuses.
I know they get some stick, but all their faults elsewhere aside they do run a really good dyno day. Jim's taken the lead on doing them now, he loves dubs, always has and always will and no matter what software you have, he'll treat your car as enthusiatically as his own. I'll never hear them knocked for that side of their operation.
-
echo ^^^^^ the same, jim is a good guy and loves his cars and would and does go out of his way to help u if needed
-
Yep, shame they can't go back to the old days of him and Andy at School Lane - they were good times.
-
I first used them for my 8L S3 when they were at school lane, times have certainly changed
-
Guys
Just so you know Jim is back on the tools working and running the workshop.....this is where his heart is and this is what he loves doing.
Regards, Mark
-
Put me on the list I think my car is losing power somewhere
-
if u guys want i could ask my mate again? at the racingline in Halifax

Guys he is on commission he has a young mouth to feed. Dont hate on him.
Mat we know there good but you need to put the brakes on this now.
-
Getting back on topic (Mat)
I would prefer Awesome to the place we went last time. Nothing wrong with it but Awesome has better facility's for the hanging around and its better for piccies. :pomppomp:

without sounding like I'm blowing smoke up a cats @rse I was about to say the same thing, I've nothing against the Halifax set-up but Awesome's surrounding are deffo a bit more comfortable, a least you can get a brew

-
Lets get the ball rolling then !!!
Looking forwards to this meet as i said earlier, really would like to see what my Pirelli is pumping out
-
Anyway back to the brakes they wont fit an S3 :booty:
After the Halifax RR day I bombed over to the UK-MKIVS day at Awesome, Halifax was great with bob on numbers but the facilitys at Irlam were better.
-

Since when have a rolling road day's figures ever made sense. It doesn't matter where or what type you go on as long as you only compare the results against other cars there at the same time. Its more about seeing if your car is healthy and having the crack. :happy2:
-
And......
(Purely in the interests of gastronomical research)
You can get the full roadkill breakfast sandwich and a mug of tea whilst chatting about sh1te at Awesome which after all is said and done isn't it what its all about more than the plot which always dissapoints anyway......
Unless of course you're the doc - who wires the ECU to the X Ray machine to the heart monitor to the breast pump to get over 300BHP out of his KO3.....he's never dissapointed.......I think he should fill up with witnesses this time though
Discuss
-
I was there on the day and he made those numbers - saw it with my own eyes!!
Figures mean cock all, just look at the graph. As not matter what the type of rollers, they're always a good accurate indicator of how power is produced, rather than concentrating on how much.
-

Hey X Rays are so last year , I wire the ecu directly to a Magnetic Resonance scanner... :scared:
-
You know there is very little that escapes me
The new Miss Marple me you know
All that I lack is the rollers :P
So if you want to battle it out between you , get an estamted date , no worries for you guys

No Issue with a bit of soot Matt
This is the lad who was behind Jays SootChucker at Halifax.....I'm unashamed to say I nearly p1ssed my pants laughing when that happened

The upside is the roads will be quiet, but the kids will be hanging around the streets :scared:
-
10th April is in the middle of the school holidays
Good point!
Since nothing is finalised (the 10th may not even be available @Awesome) perhaps we should get folk opinion on a later date in April...
-
3rd or 4th weekend in april? Have we checked when awesome are free?

I'll contact Sarah and ask what dates are free...
-
And here she is :chicken:
But I am afraid the Vuaxhall forum has beat you to the 10th April , but we can do the 24th April
Or the 8th May
22nd May
5th June
So now I will leave you all to pick which one you want
Then I will see about the lovely Di to come and do you all the nice bacon butties , burgers etc....
Sarah
-
Thanks for the update Sarah. :happy2:
I think the 24th April sounds ok for me.
Can you guys make a decision on if the date is ok so we can make a definite booking?
-
i might come over and bring the new ride over
-
Count me out for the 24th
-
How about a mega meet in May - mid to late April no good for me
-
hmm, I think I need to make a new thread asking folk what is the best date for this at Awesome i.e. 24th April, 8th May, 22nd May or 5th June with the most requested date being booked.
-
List the dates and add a number onto the date some one is available I.e
24th april 0
8 may 1
15 may 1
Next person can just make the 1 a 2 for each of the dates he is. Available?
-
Its far better just to put a date up and stick with it. Just have a look at all the summer meet threads it takes two weeks to decide where on the M1 people want to meet to cruise down.
the day will die a death if you wait for peeps to agree on a date.
