Title: North West RR day...
Post by: bacillus on February 28, 2010, 01:29:28 pm
With all you guys getting uprated HPFPs, should we not have another RR day to see what improvements the upgrade has made?

I'd vote Awesome.

Simply because mine's been on their rollers twice already at stage1 and stage2 - so no matter what it reads at in terms of accuracy, it'll still give me a fair indication of how it has changed.

Makes sense... Mines only been on theirs too so will be a good comparison for me too.

Perhaps folk who are interested should post saying as much and depending on numbers, we could try and arrange a suitable venue and date...

To be fair to Awesome, when Dynojet attended the UK-MKIVs RR day probs 18 months ago and recalibrated their rollers beforehand, everyone put out exactly what it said on the tin on the day. At both stage 1 and stage 2 since mine's been pretty much as expected.

Also on the day their old MKV dropped a fair bit of power/torque from previously claimed, they were quite pragmatic about it rather than making excuses.

I know they get some stick, but all their faults elsewhere aside they do run a really good dyno day. Jim's taken the lead on doing them now, he loves dubs, always has and always will and no matter what software you have, he'll treat your car as enthusiatically as his own. I'll never hear them knocked for that side of their operation.

I would prefer Awesome to the place we went last time. Nothing wrong with it but Awesome has better facility's for the hanging around and its better for piccies.  :pomppomp:

After the Halifax RR day I bombed over to the UK-MKIVS day at Awesome, Halifax was great with bob on numbers but the facilitys at Irlam were better.

Since when have a rolling road day's figures ever made sense.  It doesn't matter where or what type you go on as long as you only compare the results against other cars there at the same time.  Its more about seeing if your car is healthy and having the crack.  :happy2:

And......

(Purely in the interests of gastronomical research)

You can get the full roadkill breakfast sandwich and a mug of tea whilst chatting about sh1te at Awesome which after all is said and done isn't it what its all about more than the plot which always dissapoints anyway......

Unless of course you're the doc  - who wires the ECU to the X Ray machine to the heart monitor to the breast pump to get over 300BHP out of his KO3.....he's never dissapointed.......I think he should fill up with witnesses this time though

Discuss

I was there on the day and he made those numbers - saw it with my own eyes!!

Figures mean cock all, just look at the graph. As not matter what the type of rollers, they're always a good accurate indicator of how power is produced, rather than concentrating on how much.

hmm, I think I need to make a new thread asking folk what is the best date for this at Awesome i.e. 24th April, 8th May, 22nd May or 5th June with the most requested date being booked.

Title: Re: North West RR day...

List the dates and add a number onto the date some one is available I.e

24th april 0
8 may 1
15 may 1

Next person can just make the 1 a 2 for each of the dates he is. Available?
Title: Re: North West RR day...
Post by: Top Cat on March 05, 2010, 08:25:14 pm
Its far better just to put a date up and stick with it. Just have a look at all the summer meet threads it takes two weeks to decide where on the M1 people want to meet to cruise down.

the day will die a death if you wait for peeps to agree on a date.
