Hi everyone,
Thought I was registered here, but clearly not :(
I have owned a fair few golf's, from the mk2 through to 5 now.
Recently bought a Golf GTi DSG back in July I think (upgrade from the GT TDi)
Now I have a question, im going to be looking at doing some mods engine / performance wise. When I bought the car and trying to obtain insurance etc, everywhere was stating that my motor was a Pirelli edition, dealer told me that the car was incorrectly registered when first new.
So, how can I determine what model the GTi is? seems like a stupid question, but there are no Pirelli marks or styling on the car. That being said there is no ED30 marks neither, so do I have the standard GTi? (insurance renewal is coming up so need to be sure)
Also, if the car is a standard GTi, how do I go about getting the registration to match the actual model? as im sure if there was ever a claim the insurance would find this as a loophole.
Thanks in advance guys :)

Hi,
I had a similar issue as you, but mine was showing as a 3 door and as a saloon instead of a 5 door black gti.
You have to update this on your logbook, and send it off to DVLA to rectify the details - I'm sure the logbook will show you what engine model your car is AXX or BWA
