Title: RCD 300 Installation...

A nice easy question for you lot this morning - Thinking of changing my poverty edition RCD300 to the silver button RCD300 (still poverty I know)...

How tricky is this to do - baring in mind I'm very new to all this modding business?

It's easy.

Just follow the instruction of how to remove the headunit from my camera install guide (from step 2 - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10027.0.html

Really easy, it looks scary but it's not. No special tools. A torx screwdriver and a trim removal piece is handy.

Am I right in thinking the silver button version will show track names from mp3's or ipod connection as opposed to just track 01, track 02 etc?

^^^^ Nope not from the OEM iPod adapter. But it will play MP3 CD's that do show the track names  :happy2:

Only if it has the 'MP3' logo on the head unit.
