Title: CAI v Panel filter stage 1
Post by: Bigjimknickers on December 16, 2019, 01:36:04 pm
Ok first off- yes I tried a search!
I just wondered if anyone had ever noted the gains in bhp for a stage 1 & a CAI v stage 1 & panel filter?
Talking about a mk5 gti 2.0 tfsi.

You ask about gains however there will also be losses in lower rpm response due to the slower airflow via bigger pipes (Bernoulli effect). The reality is that the small K03 is the main airflow restriction and you may as well spend your CAI budget on a VIS hpfp upgrade to enjoy some solid gains in midrange torque without any downsides.

The limit of the standard airbox is 320ish hp.   After market intakes don't really improve anything until 5000+ rpm.
