Title: Replacing pvc
Post by: andyp on December 16, 2019, 03:31:36 pm
Car is hunting at low revs so having had a nosey it seems that it’s poss the pvc on its way out.   Is there any difference bar price between an oem one or one from gsf?   And is a new gasket needed also?   Thanks

New gasket needed, I have seen them causing lean codes when they leak.

It's the PCV not PVC but whatever floats your boat...

😂😂.   Didn’t even notice that typo!   So just the gasket instead of the plastic unit?

This info was posted on another thread about how to test the PCV

An even simpler test. When the engine is idling pull the dipstick and the engine SHOULD start running rough. When you put dipstick back in and the engine SMOOTHS out again the PCV is ok.
