Great car, 350BHP after a map, and very suitable for family duties, leaving me plenty of room for a nice 911 toy, next year :happy2:
-
:congrats: they are a nice car and look very nice on the road
-
Nice one Oli :happy2:
Keep us posted with updates of the Beemer. :notworthy:
-
You know how to make someones evening Oli :sad1:
Awesome sounding car mate!
See you sunday :happy2:
-
Once of my friends is getting his delivered tomorrow. Nice looking cars. Taking it to Le mans this year so a good long road test :)
-
Oli, I thought you were going to keep hold of the Golf for a while. What happened?
-
Very nice indeed! I've spent many hours in 335d's evaluating them before the UK launch! Truly awesome car, however I feel that it will make the 911 seem pretty slow in a straight line!
What do you mean red/brown leather? As in are you going for a two-tone option from the Individual range?
-
Nice one Oli, almost identical spec, I also went for the Bad Boy 19" wheels (may paint black), should be here in 3-4 weeks.
335i M Sport

I'm not sure what wheels I'm putting on. Maybe some Vmr713 in 19" and matt black with proper Tyres on.
-
1st Job, Dump the run-flats. :congrats:

i hate em big time  they crash all over the place and are just not nice at all

The wifes got them on her 320d touring, I can just manage the odd drive !! The rear on the 335i are 255 x 30 19's so may be a bit restricted on choice.

When I had my last 335, the car had covered no more than 50 miles from new when I took thr RFTs off and put Alpina Dynamics on it, with the bigger 265 tyre on the rear, the ride was transformed, and I even had H and R springs on it! I am thinking about the same wheel again, as another option.
Just because I am a picture whore;

And if anyone is good at photoshop, can you change the wheels on this Alpina to black for me please, just to to give me an idea of how it might look

Great choice mate.
The new 1 series is due to be released in 2012 i quite fancy the 2.0t petrol or the twin turbo 3 liter they use just now.

I've looked into the BMW Performance range, they do some carbon bits, Brake (yellow) and suspension upgrade and a performance engine kit, gives 450Nm & extra 20hp. Not much of an increase though for £1,125 + labour, waiting to hear if that affects the warranty.
Also had a chat with Saun @ AMD who has fitted milltek & mapped 335i to around 380bhp no problem.
I was going to get the wheels powder coated black before I picked it up, but I'm going to wait a while now and also look at some decent rubber.
I will still do some ¼ sprints but not sure I have the balls to take it on track, Greenlight Insurance won't cover cars over £30k so no track day Insurance from them.
Looking forward to some RWD.
Neil :happy2:
(My photoshop aint that good)
-
Nice spec Neil.
No upgraded hifi or USB??? I found these were essential on my last one
-
Just had the call from the dealer, its arrived, and I collect Friday @ 2pm!!!
Cant wait.
I adjusted the spec a little at the end, and added Bluetooth audio, DAB, 19" BMW Performance alloys, Black performance grilles, M3 boot lip Spolier, front splitters and 12v power sockets(cant beleive thats an option)!
-
my old boss had a a 535d that was remapped and it was a rocket on the road.
-
Ive had a 335d before, which was mapped to approx 350BHP, ridiculously fats, but uninvolving. However this is going to be the family car and Im going to buy a weekend toy to go with it next year.

Come on then get picture whoring...would love a 335
-
Slight problem!! I got a call an hour before collection, to say the idrive isnt working!!! The car is currently having a software update, and will be ready Monday/Tuesday!
Oh well, dealer has been great and has lent me a car etc
-
Oli, (you posted as I was sending this)
How are you finding the new (3rd gen) runflats, I gota say I'm suprised that I can easly live with them (until I need to replace anyway).
I'm ashamed to say I've still got 300 miles till run in, nailed it a few times though, the straight 6 is
Making enquries about changing the fugly new EU size mirrors, look like their straight of a Citroen Berlingo, thinking of changing them for something a bit slimmer or M3 style, I cant imagine their being a problem changing them for some other 2 door E92 mirrors, they are electric folding/Reverse tilting, heated & Auto dimming, what do you think?
Neil
-
Neil, I havent actually picked it up due to the idrive fault, its still at the dealers!!! And ive got the performance 269 alloys wiith standard tyres, are RFTs are sh*te!
On the mirror front, I think Im going to either put carbon covers on or paint mine black, to make them stand out less!
Running in, whats that?? 200 miles is all you need for a modern engine, and thats purely to let the brake bed in.
