Guys got an annoying whistle type noise from interior blowers on low speed, is this likely to be the blower motor on it's way out?
Apprieciate any info
Thanks

If the noise goes at faster speeds, it's usually a sign the motor bearings have gone dry. If you're a keen fixer you can knock the old ones out and pop new ones in. The bearing number can usually be looked up online and ordered in.
Or if you want an easier life, replace the blower. Not cheap from VW but the Valeo brand from ECP is good.

Yeah it does sound like dry bearings and I am one for fixing things up so will hunt down the bearing codes and see what i can obtain

If possible it might be worth just putting a few drops of oil in the bearings, I used to have to do this approx. once a year in mu Peugeot 306.

Hi, probably I have the same issue on my GTI mk5 another user’s describes it as a Dark Vader breath.
I read about the pressure sensor that is losing the aircon gas and also that the problem is the compressor of the aircon. Mine by the moment is working, just that bearing noise when AC/ON, if disconnect the A/C with the climate on the noise disappears.
Maybe someone have experience on it.

Hi after some investigations and removing the blower motor the sound only happens when the engine is running and is not the blower fan. I agree it sounds like leaking gas or similar? Any ideas where to start the hunt for fault?
Thanks

To add the noise goes away when the econ button is pressed???
Could this be a compressor/ condenser fault

It's more a hissing noise after reading some google literature its pointing towards low air con from??? Anyone had this before? I've owned the car 6 years and it's never had a regas etc so I wouldnt be suprised if it was low?
Thanks
