Does anybody know what the oem vw/audi sachs clutch is rated at bhp/lbsft??? I have just had one fitted to my s3 8p a few weeks back and wondering how far it can be pushed compared to the uprated sachs? Cheers, Stevie.

If its the same as you get in the ED30 then not alot.
Seems they cant even cope with stage 1 mods!
-
Which is what? Does that mean 300lbsft?
-
i would say 300bhp at the most and if driven hard it fooks em big time and can do your dmf too
-
I will certainly test it out and see how long it lasts, it will be used hard nxt month on the 1/4mile. Whoz clutches are vwr using are they sachs aswell?

If it's the later Sachs one like you say and not the earlier (pre 08) LUK clutches then they aren't to bad. As there are a fair few Stage 2+ (360bhp 350lb/ft) S3's and Cupras running them with no issues as yet. But if it's the earlier LUK ones (which I think stands for LURPAK going on how soft they are) then not very much as has already been mentioned.
-
Whats it like to use? You ok with it on daily use? Have you been able to compare it to the less aggressive plate that they do?
-
Cheers vtec thats the kinda answer i was looking for i managed to destroy my "LURPAK" clutch so this is the sachs 08 onwards clutch that they have fitted.
-
Mine was the 08 onwards clutch and it didnt last 5 minutes with revo stage 1.
Not saying yours wont last, but just telling you what happened to mine!
What power are you running? if its around 300/300 it would be good if you report back on how it gets on at the pod etc..
-
330bhp and 330lbsft? Hoping it stands up to it no problem on 11th april, i was hoping it would be rated at 350lbsft, do you know what the uprated one is rated at? Is that around 380/400lbsft?

Hmmm Ben just been reading this again thats quite interesting to know what youve said!!
I've been told mine was the 08 setup but do you know when it was changed as my car is a 57 plate.

Avoid a paddle clutch Stevie, they are crap for doing 1/4 mile launches on 4wd cars. It doesnt allow any spin and the car just boggs down nearly stalling. Organic pressure plate is what you want :happy2:

theres such a variance I would propose that the way a clutch is bedded in and treated has a large effect on life.
some just give up no matter what you do ..

My mates Spec Stage 3 paddle clutch with SMF launches like and absolute bitch in his S3. To the point where he can spin all four wheels  Something he could never do with the old DMF and standard clutch without it bogging most of the time..

Not entirely sure mate, I just know it was 08 onwards. Someone will fill us in though i'm sure. Gaz?

Well my new clutch hasnt been abused so far so it has been run in and looked after, i wont be changing it the now as i have just blagged a £600 clutch out of audi but i just thought i would ask and see if anybody knew exactly what it was rated at, can only see how long it lasts and if it is rated at 350lbsft then i should be ok for a while as i dont really expect to be running that on this clutch. Cheers lads. :happy2:
-
Don't worry It'l be fine  :happy2: :driver: Doors  And I'll be the guinea pig for the Uprated Sachs :signLOL:
-
if anyone has the part number for the sach clutch, I could always just ask sach themselves what its rated to.
-
I dont have that info, toast will be ordering straight from sachs soon so he can ask when hez on the blower.
