Title: Need front grill and rear boot VW badges
Post by: Jb55 on March 30, 2020, 10:09:25 pm
Hi guys, I have a 57 plate gti and looking for front and rear vw badges, my rear badge has a big chip in it and the front is looking pretty shabby the chrome is coming off, been looking on eBay but struggling to find the boot lid badge as I believe I need a curved badge, plenty on there that say they are flat and won’t fit a gti.

Do mk6 badges or any other VW’s badges fit the rear?

I replaced the rear silver badge for a black one on my 07 plate edition 30 yesterday, this was the two piece curved badge. I’d recommend removing the silver badge from the back piece and seeing what clips are on the back, then go on to eBay and find a badge where the clips match up.

@cozza thanks mate where did you get your black badge from? My cars black and think I prefer the chrome look. Also how difficult was it to remove your old badge.

On 07 and 57 cars you will be able to fit bevelled mk6 badges  Pretty sure the mk7 will fit too (110mm?)  Forget about the rear clips as these can be removed I have a mk6 fitted with double sided tape.

Got mine off eBay, was toying with the idea for a while because I too liked the original look, but in the end just went for it, think the black badge sets it off nicely. Was relatively easy removing the old badge, just went round the edges carefully with a knife plying the badge from the backing piece.
