Title: gti mk5 airbag module?
Post by: hussnainh8 on April 01, 2020, 11:12:55 pm
Hi,

Does anyone know how to check if an airbag module has stored crash data? I have a GTI MK5 thats had a front end crash and the passenger airbag, steering wheel airbag and the front and rear seat belts need replacing. Just wondering if I need to reset the airbag module as well or if I need to only replace the parts and clear the codes?

My airbag light is yellow and I can access the airbag module using VCDS and it has codes stored for the parts needing replacing.. Is it a matter of just replacing the parts and erasing the fault codes?

Thanks.

I watched a cop show a few weeks ago a Toyota pick up crashed the cops sent the module to the maker in Japan the info helped to convict the driverit was a real prog.
