Does anybody know what size of Torz socket I need for the brake caliper mounting frame / bracket bolts? I only have up to a T40 and it is bigger than that.
-
It’s not a torx bit - it’s an M14 triple square and you’ll probably need a stubby short one to allow space to get in and get leverage

ebay £5 :happy2:

Thanks fakie1977 & terrier. That makes sense as it looked like there were more splines than Torx. Anything that isn't hex / allen key is new to me !!

If at all possible get your car on a lift for this. It’s an absolute swine of a job on your drive way. Getting the triple squares into the carriers and having enough space for the very long breaker bar you need is nigh on impossible without being score to get right under the car.
It has been done i know but it ain’t easy.
Good luck :happy2:

Yes, good luck. I've done this job once, never again. So hard to get leverage as they are so bloody tight. Eneded up buying a extendable handle ratchet with a swivel head.

With an extendable swivel head ratchet and the correct stubby spline bit it's not too bad, but nigh on impossible without them.

This with the car on axle stands to allow the bar to turn more

A small heavy head hammer is handy to whack the end of the ratchet to knock them loose
