Title: hi guys mk5 gti engine sound

alright guys ive just got my golf yesterday i know this might sound a little bit silly but can anyone else tell me does there engine sounds tickey on tick over ?? ive been told this is the way the tsi engines sound but just wanted to check with you guys                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             cheers keith

They all sound rough lol, a bit diesely (simillar technology)

ah thank god for that yeh it is a bit diesely im so glad youve said that mate i was so worred id brought a wrong en !!!!!!!! :happy2:

It's normal. I think it's the injectors (but don't know for sure).

Its normal, its the injection system. Also if you hear a tick when pressing the throttle, its the throttle flap opening.

I think the ticking is worth it for the other noises it makes, especially on up-shift with a DSG  :wink:
