Hello all,
I'm having an issue with my MK5 that has 996TT calipers fitted.
The issue is, terrible brake squeal. Like ear piercing high pitched squeal!
I bought the kit second hand, with refurbished calipers.
The kit came with:
The calipers (freshly powder coated with new seals etc)
350x32mm MTEC J hook discs (little wear/use)
Centring rings (new)
HEL braided lines (new)
Motul RBF600 (new)
Vagbremtechnic adaptors for alloy hubs (used)
Pagid Road pads (used, lots of life left)
Ferodo DS2500 pads (like new)
I started off with the DS2500 and they were fine for some number of miles then gradually they started squealing, then got to the point the car was un-driveable. So then I switched to the Pagid pads. Again, to start with they were fine but then the same noise.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar issues?
Someone I have explained to has said to try a 2 piece disc set up.
Many thanks.

I am doing some work on my sons Anni which is fitted with an Abbot big brake kit. I am having trouble sealing the lines at the calipers. The issue is getting a seal across the banjo bolt to the caliper. There is a washer either side of the bolt. Should they be copper or Bellville? The current ones seem to be copper but perhaps need annealing. Anyone know the part nos?
