Title: Camber query
Post by: Enviousog on July 19, 2020, 02:51:37 pm
I know people have asked and I've searched but the answer wasn't clear
On the mkv gti, the rear axel camber is adjustable, but which bolt is it?

Great pic  :happy2:

Before attempting to adjust the toe, I would buy a pair of bolts/nuts from VW first. They seize up and often need to be cut off if heat and impact guns don’t budge them.

The camber bolts seem to be fine.

the rear camber and toe bolts are totally seized in mine, i'm waiting to order a full polybush set for the front and rear then ill drop the whole rear end cut it all out and pop new bushed and bolts in, loads of effort for a bit of camber being out but its not perfect.. has to be sorted lol

I bought a full set of PSB but only fitted the front as the bolts on the rear won't move hence me getting the bolts in anticipation of them needing to be replaced. I don't want the car stuck in the air as a bolt has snapped.

i agree @bobby_fodge (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=26224) i'm pretty sure ill be dropping the whole rear frame on mine and angle grind them all out! the camber bolt is hard to get to at the best of times! let alone when its seized!
