Evening all.
I went on a nice long drive today, about 140 miles ish. I noticed when the car is at idle that there is a slight missfire. The car doesnt lack in power and no warning lights are coming on. The car on short journeys adverages about 24-26mpg and on the long drive today was at 36mpg. Does anyone know if this is normal at all, also my fuel consumption seems to be a little high.
cheers

Fuel consumption seems slightly high but nothing to excessive are you using the high octane stuff like V-Power. If you are then maybe it wasn't used in its previous life and will take some tie to adapt. :happy2:

I dont know about the misfire, it shouldn't be down to that as the ECU can adapt to either fuel.
The V- power is more expensive at the pump but he engine runs more economical using it so it works out about the same price, but the v- power makes a big difference to the performance.

I think i might give the V power a try next time im at the pump. The missfire isnt bad, but its very slight.

As i say use it religiously for a few months dont put any nasty 95 ron in and you should see a big improvement. :happy2:

The missus borrowed the GTI one day last month, because her car was in the garage. She was kind enough to 'fill her up' for me, using sh1tty Sainsbury's 95 RON.
Now, I'm still on the same tank and I can totally feel the difference in both power AND consumption, especially nearer the top of the range.
Either V-Power or Tesco Super FTW!
