Just a thought but wouldn't' be less work/hassle if you leave everything in place if losing is a near certainty...

Its about his best personal time really its not who you race. He will be setting a time for him to beat next time he tries it.  :drinking:
and its getting into the spirit  :driver:

A good set of slicks will see you shave a good amount off your time, won't help your terminal though. You've got most of the main bits to strip, the rest would just be a few kg here and there - don't eat and have a big crap  :happy2: lol

LOL, that's real dedication!!

Don't bother with the console/door panels/glovebox as they weigh nowt and will most certainly rattle like hell when you refit them.

The rest on the other hand weighs a bloody ton - whip it out! Haven't had the passnger seat out, but I think they're just a simple bolt job. The rear upright needs 2 types of star-drive (a 6 pointed and a 12 pointed) and can be fiddly.

As mentioned though launching is the key.

Ahh, see I'm just lazy and lob the quick to remove & heavy stuff out!

I was looking at a time spent vs benefit gained - but if you know what you're doing then fair play. Do us a favour and weigh the door panels when you have them out??

Wow that race car thread is a cracker - fancy shedding enough to get down to near 1000kgs dry and still having a full cage!

Oh, to win the lottery/have any talent!!

Big up for Benny :happy2:

I wouldn't bother too much about the start Benny - Diesels aren't well known for ripping up the tarmac on launch. You need to concern yourself more with getting the weight down and nailing the gearchanges at the optimal revs for a diesel. Hanging on to the redline in a VW diesel isn't worth it. Change up just after 4k revs should give you the best times on the qtr. I've had 4 diesels and have tried all the different lauches. 2,500revs at launch is best I've found.

Traction control off too if you have the option.
