Before I got it mapped I did all the usual jobs finishing up with oil pick up pipe clean and pre cat delete, I drove it around like this for a couple of weeks and the performance kept improving to the point where I thought twice about a map.
Anyway I took it to TuningLab in Devon yesterday. It turns out that a combination of all the jobs done and 99ron fuel meant it was making 219hp and 232 Ft.lbs standard before the map!
It is now 253hp and 297 Ft.lbs
This is an '07 mk5 with 94,000 and no service history. The mech who did the oil pick up pipe said it had obviously had oil changes and the lads at Tunelab were impressed at the health of the engine. So a result there, as it was a gamble.
How do these figures compare with other members stage 1 results?

Is it an edition 30?

Sounds on the high side of normal for stage 1 GTI

No, it's just a normal one.

Would have guessed around the bhp figure really. What do they usually make?

That's what I would have expected a lot of replies to tell me!
