Title: Intermittent misfire
Post by: Geoffjackson on September 01, 2020, 07:15:14 pm
Hi folks
On the motorway today I geared down from 6-4 at approx 60mph for a spirited pull to 70 of course. The car misfired through the Rev range and the EML temporarily flashed.
I then drive the car steady and once off the  motorway I drove relatively spritely and couldn’t get it to repeat the fault.
Car is eddy 30 stage 2+ r tech VERY well maintained.
Any thoughts folks

Could be spark plugs, coil packs, injectors, carbon buildup on intake valves.

You need to plug into VCDS to get any fault codes etc..

I had misfires, which were the intake valves clogged up with gunk being direct injection.......common problem now with these engines and ages. Took it all apart and cleaned the intake valves out, cleaned injector tips with new seal kit and more healthy than ever now.
