Title: Revo 2+ In/around manchester
Post by: Aparoon on March 16, 2010, 07:46:54 pm
Can you get a trial stage 2+ session? No issues with the BF but i'm curious what difference there is and whether a swap would be worthwhile?

Ridiculous I know, but I love buying  :stupid: :signLOL:

I have an idea... during your moments of boredom/compulsive spending, instead of racking your brains for yet more things to buy just send it to my paypal account or meet me for latte'o'clock tomorrow with an envelope full of used notes, problem solved!

Wrong! it's not a revo issue..... It's a mechanical issue, in most cases it is weak valve springs..... that's why there is a TSB out on K04 engines of a certain build date!

and in answer to your original question, no we don't offer trial for stage2+ but we do offer a 30 day money back guarantee! Or just meet up with someone with 2+ either way you'll notice the difference in seconds!

I hope this helps!

Cheers Carl!
How much is it to go from Revo Stage 1 to ST2+?
Would you recommend fitting the S3 intercooler (and twintercooler) I have before having it setup or doesn't it make a difference?
I currently have the autotech HPFP, Forge Twintake and full de-cat Milltek already on.

Yeah will defo get it done soon - my local tuner is AMD Woking but they don't have a rolling road.
Would you advise getting it RR'd or can you just upgrade to ST2+ and test it with logging?

Live logging on the road is much better, proper airflow and 'real world' conditions  :happy2:

wrong, there are loads of 2007 cars that are affected and whilst revo might not be the only mapper with the issue, it appears to be the only mainstream mapper with this fault. I have tallied up all know cars with the fault, and those without and the numbers are interesting indeed. I have also scowered the web from europe to the us to Australia and have yet to find one giac or apr car with this flat spot.

my car is 2008+ and has a bad flat spot with stage 2 and stage 2+ (i was told to go and spend more money on a pump and stage 2+ map to make the problem go away but its got worse)]

logged and tested tonnes of revo settings but the car still pulls to 5.2k and stops for a second then carrys on again

Thanks James - I'm guessing you don't have this elusive flat spot! What sort of power gains did you get at ST2+?

Thanks mate - if going ST1 to ST2+ costs £100 + VAT and the same to go ST2 then ST2+ (£50+VAT each stage) then I may just do it one stage at a time so I can see the difference....
Not sure if AMD will charge for the setting up on top of the Revo charge.......

AMD Woking.
I have the Stage 1 done at AMD Essex but only cos they were doing the offer of the free Select switch at the time - this was over 2 years ago.
I'm hoping all these mods don't lead to bad reliability - I saw a cupra (H8T WT) on the back of a flat-bed truck being recovered the other week and made me think if all this modding was such a good idea..... :stupid:
Only thing is, it's quite boring to buy a fast car off the shelf and do nothing to it.... :signLOL:

lol haha yeah waynes car was having some issues. h8t wt is cuprak1 on here btw, not sure if you know or not.

I absolutely loved stage 1, the flat spot sorta puts a damper on things though. If your near north london maybe you could message wayne and see if you can see his stage 2 plus car in action.

Ahh right cool - CupraK1 is H8T WP. Nice car - hope he's got it sorted!
Thanks for the co-driver offer! I'm based in Surrey (not far from Woking) so I'll probably make it there before I get to North London!

Where are you from?

I am still putting money on the flat spot being a fuelling issue, and nothing to do with the code and I will be in a position to confirm this one way or another within 2 weeks. Spoke to Carl just now about intakes, and he recommended the ITG, so if that has proven to be the most efficient, then the fuelling modification I will be getting will definitely test things if I can have an ITG fitted prior to the fuelling modification being done.

Mine is Revo Stage 2+ and on a early 2007 car with a low BWJ engine number, therefore disproving the valve spring issue on post 2008 cars. That being said, this flat spot is present quite a few non Revo cars too again backing what Revo are saying about it being a mechanical issue.

I know I have said it on SCN, but you lads are being a bit hard on Revo with this flat spot issue. All the logs I have done and rolling road graphs show the car to be running great with the Revo code and the car is on its 3rd variation of the code now from S1 to S2 and now S2+ although I have never yet managed to log the car when the flat spot was present.

Give me 2 weeks and I will revert back with some good news hopefully, and it will be nothing to do with the Revo code I bet :happy2:

Mechanical it may be but seeing as its also on quite a few 07 cars its safe to say that revo dont know the cause of the issue, and yes there are other maps with this flat spot, however I cant find any giac or apr users with this flat spot.

I have no idea why its doing it, but all I want is a solution and I hope your project sorts the issues  :happy2:
