hi all.....

im looking to change my stereo on my 2005 gti, RCD 300, but read its likely to result in battery drain.

does anyone know which CANBUS i should be looking to get to prevent this.

Hi bud this one should be fine 1k0907530P I’m trying to find a log with the part number I’ve got in mine. I’m pretty sure it’s the 7N0 one but can’t confirm just yet. I’ll check in the morning and update.

What radio are you looking to change to? I know some need a small repin at the quad lock.

Aim to get one from a 2008+ car.

I got mine from a 2010 S3 8P......then it needs coding based on the original.

Seems like a headache after researching, I want to fit a newer stereo but seems like my local specialists don’t want to know.

Where can I get a new canbus?
Or get my current coded?

Needs to be replaced and got mine off eBay.

The old ones coding needs to be noted in VCDS before being replaced with new on.....coding is not an exact transfer as module numbers differ.
