Title: what should i do first????

iv had my edition 30 three days now....im not quite sure what to do first,iv got bout Â£500 to spend.

whats the best thing to do buy a nice quality back box or a re-map????????

Post by: NB07 on March 18, 2010, 09:46:54 pm: the benefits are throttle response and pure speed when you need to overtake or get up to 60 quickly! do a bit of studies on the map then go for Revo then save some more pennies and save for the exhaust, do a bit more research and go blueflame TBE :evilgrin:

i came from e46 m3 and i dont rekon theres that much in it ,and the golf has superoir handling :smiley:

Post by: gobbleplease on March 18, 2010, 11:07:56 pm: First of all the remap will be the best mod you can do so I'd say go for that. Although coming from the m3 I'd say you need the volume first so go for an exhaust espesially as you are liking the the standard power at the moment

I've got to say though I can't say that I found the Gtis handeling superior to the m3

my first comment would be enjoy the car and get to know how it feels std, as well as by giving it some time you know its running just right.
maybe even get a rolling road done on it.
At the same time you can be trawling the forums for info.
imho dont go jumping into getting remap x or exhaust y until youve gained enough info for the choice.

the std car is fantastic and its great to remember how that is, so that when you make changes you can compare.

I would say get a boost gauge now and consider how to spend the rest :happy2:

Why?

I had one in my remapped Ibiza Cupra many years ago and found it to be completely pointless.

For Â£500 the best thing to do is either:
remap if you like power,
RCD510/RNS510 head unit,
Integrated bluetooth

All my opinion obviously :drinking:

Post by: jmspear on March 19, 2010, 08:07:20 pm: I came from an E46 M3 into my ed30, I love my Ed30 Soooooooo much more than the beemer, for me, the map is a must do. I went for a bluefin as wanted the reassurance of the VWR mapper, but basically you won't go wrong with Revo, apr or any of the "big brands".

The mapped ed30 is just unbelieveably quick mid range, it really has to be driven to be experienced. 2.5 years on have made no other mods (except stereo) as I am so pleased with it.
