Hi guys,
I am looking to remove our mk5's front lip if possible to carbon vinyl it. I have had a few mk4's so getting stuck in is not the issue but can I just remove the bottom lip instead of the whole lot?
If so, any tips on where the 'right' bolts are? :ashamed:
Any help would be great. :drinking:
Thanks
Vick

To be perfectly honest, it is easier the take the whole bumper off than just the lip.
They are very easy to remove.
4 screw in each wheel arch
8 screws underneath
4 screws to remove the grill
some mk5s have 2 screws in the front slam panel too. Some don't
then it just slides off
to take off the lip you still have to remove screws from the arches, all the ones underneath and then you have to unclip about 20 clips holding the lip to the bumper which are a beeehatch! Then to refit, it's just as problematic. Those clips can be quite stubborn

What about the rear bumper Jay? Is that as straight forward as it looks? I am gonna take off the rear bumper to carbon my diffuser

Thanks dude, I can leave the lip on If the whole bumper comes off in one go, only want to carbon wrap the lip :happy2:
What about headlamp washers? do they just unplug? Will they create any faults on the Ecu?
Ta.

Vick if you take the full bumper off, its just a pipe that unclips from the pump there is also the foglights to unplug...

Monte - I removed my s3 8p rear bumper yesterday with no trouble at all, not a lot holding it on. Remove the plastic trimming, tail lights and a whole bunch of hex screws in the arches and it just slips off, not a mk5 bumper but must be roughly the same.
