The seats look beautiful. I will get a call from vw asking if I want to upgrade to one of these when they have been out for a bit got the 7.5 R atm and I absolutely love it.

Its flappy paddle dsg only now got rid of the gearstick as I doubt anyone uses it for anything other than mode selection and they can use a switch or button for that

Just looks odd without something protuding from the centre console.  :scared:

The £40k starting price is pretty stiff.

It seems to be more agile / pointy according to the early reviews.

I haven't seen a Mk8 R on the road but I have seen a couple of GTI's and its a big fat no from me, really didn't like the back of the car in particular. If i decide to part with my Edition 30 I'd have to look at something different to a Golf. I've had a 7.5 R and it bored the life out of me and with the Mk8 styling not to my taste it would have to be the Clubsport 40 if anything VW. Then again I'm probably going to get a lower powered car next time as there's so many cameras/avg speed zones around me now.
