Title: fans permanently on

i am after some help

i have a mark 5 golf bwa engine in my caddy but my fans are now permanently on as soon as i turn the car on they come on. This started about 2 weeks ago

I had the same issue with mine got told of multiple garages it was the fan that was the problem turns out it was my thermostat I changed my coolant temperature sensor and then the thermostat and reset the error codes and the fans haven't been on since

Could it be Thermostat related?

Coolant sensor - there are 2 on the Gti
First one is pretty easy to get to above the box and drives the dash gauge.
But my money is on: the other one that is in the thermostat housing...this is the ECU sensor - and its a bit painful to get at under intake manifold -if you are going in there, replace the thermostat at the same time.
